I read somewhere that cancer can be caused by an imbalance between Omega 6 fats and Omega 3 fats. I think it was the ratio between them. Continuing to do more internet research on this.
I tend to view all links of any website/organization that appear at least somewhat professional but of course all information on the web is correct, of course but I tend to put a little more faith in the data from Medical websites and Science Magazine websites. Legitimate Medical websites are going to print data directly from the study (I hope) and most Science Magazines are usually unbiased and will at least probably look into the information more than an average Internet website would.
I have posted a link to the articles. I know that tests and trials of any sort can have so many variables and sometimes those don't get published along with the results, either because they weren't thought of or were not thought of as being significant to the outcome.
Common sense tells me that the larger the amount of people in the study group(s), the better the accuracy of the results.
There's some interesting info here if it's accurate but one thing he's definitely wrong about is that smoker's do not have lower risk of Alzheimer's, it's actually higher for smokers
As if enough niacin could be inhaled by smoking....the chemicals in cigarette smoke I'm sure do damage to the lungs but it's insanity to think that any beneficial chemicals could get through the body that way..at least not safely through. Gads, what's that guy SMOKING? :D
That article immediately made me think to look for "Niacin (B3) and alzheimer's" since niacin is sort of like a statin. I found a few articles but nothing that shows niacin does an outstanding job for prevention of alzheimer's. Maybe it helps a little? Perhaps has something to do with plaques and the cholesterol-lowering effects of niacin?.... even though coronary plaque is, I guess, different from Alzheimer's plaque
Most of us are infected for life by a large number of viruses (I was researching for links between herpes virus types and some types of cancer)
Viruses and cancer
